Using a Clove Hitch with a SHOCKLES Line-Snubber
Use a clove hitch to attach this strong, versatile snubber to any dock line, towing line, boom preventer or any other line that absorbs shock. This works best on lines ½" and smaller. For larger lines use a Shockles LineGrabber. Be sure there is never more than 6" -- 8" of slack line between the carabiners.

Shockles Testimonials
“I’ve used Shockles for various applications on several boats that I’ve captained, from 49’ to 120’. They’re strong, well made, and versatile. I’ve used them to keep our boom secure as well as keep a 72’ yacht centered between docks during a storm with gale force winds. I recommend them for virtually any size or type of boat—great product!”

“During a rough night at anchor near Barkley Sound (west coast of Vancouver Island), our boat was lurching like a bucking bronco. We added a Shockle to our anchor chain and the relief was immediate. No noise and no worries about the anchor tearing loose during the big wind gusts. Thanks for a great product!”

“We used our Big Shockles for the first time during our recent trip to the Sea of Cortez in Mexico. Within a day we had come up with so many uses that we wish we had brought several more (hence my attached order for four more). Now I wouldn’t go on a boat without several!”
Maddy Lieb

“I’ve had those big ugly black rubber snubbers wrapped around my dock lines for years and never liked them but there was no alternative. Not only does the Shockle work much better, but I can take them off quickly when I stow my dock lines and use them for something else.”
Mark Ruddy, Bavarian AutoSport

“Overall, I have found the Shockles to be superb. I have been down on the marina during two recent gales to observe how the Shockles perform & can confirm that whilst boats nearby are snatching heavily on their mooring lines, mine is quietly oscillating back and forwards as the Shockles expand and contract to do their job.”

“Stressed out? So are your cleats. Give them relief with Shockles. This great product absorbs the shock from the snapping and jarring of docklines, anchor chains and towlines. We approve!”

”We tested the 18” size and found it would stretch to twice it’s length. We did a static load test of 300# and there was still some stretch to the Shockles with no evidence of any wear after an hour of bouncing the load up and down. The Shockle gets the BWS seal of approval, and we think we will discover more uses for this device as time goes on.”
